LA SUPERFICIE DEL NUDO 

Per quanto sia un argomento che la fotografia ha affrontato fin dagli inizi della sua storia, quello del nudo non è certo un tema facile da affrontare: si può rischiare di scontrarsi con la banalità, si può scivolare nella volgarità, ci si può immobilizzare nelle secche del dejà vu. Euro Rotelli ha invece percorso una strada diversa, il cui punto forte è costituito dall’originalità della scelta tecnica che ben si sposa con il suo gusto compositivo e con l’attenzione che presta all’armonia dell’insieme. Il ricorso al riporto da pellicola polaroid gli permette, infatti, di ottenere immagini la cui superficie è caratterizzata da una matericità che ricorda quella della pelle e, nel contempo, di creare atmosfere delicate e misteriose. I corpi ricordano nelle loro posture la classicità delle statue greche e l’analogia è ribadita dalla visione leggermente indefinita e dalla frammentazione della superficie riportata su carta che fanno pensare alla pietra e al marmo corrosi dal tempo. 
E’ proprio in virtù di tutto ciò, che le fotografie di nudo di Euro Rotelli sanno dialogare con chi le osserva proponendosi per la loro bellezza essenziale e per ciò affascinante.

The texture of the Nude

Although it has been the subject of the creative photographer's art since the earliest days of daguerreotype, the Nude is certainly not an easy subject to approach: one risks lapsing into superficiality, or slipping towards the vulgar, or simply following others with a sense of deja vu. Euro Rotelli has, unlike so many of his contemporaries, chosen a different path. His strength lies in his highly original technique with combines so well with his eye for composition and the careful attention he pays to the sweeping harmony of the whole. His imaginative use of polaroid film enables him to obtain images whose surface texture recalls that of skin, while creating an atmosphere both delicate and intriguing. In their poses, the bodies hark back to the classicism of ancient Greek statues, this analogy being reiterated by a slightly ethereal vision and the fragmentation of the surface as it is transferred onto paper, making the viewer think of stone and marble weathered over time. 
It is the gentle balance of all these traits that brings the Nudes of Euro Rotelli into an intimate dialogue with the onlooker, drawing us in with their essential beauty and fascination.
